Bono & Il Square off in Pyongyang

After hearing for the first time that North Korea had an issue with food shortage, Bono of U2, decided to put on a “Food For Kim’s people” benefit concert. Let it be known that the title, “Food for Change” was changed by Kim Jong-Il’s spin doctors as they claim Bono was excited to visit Pyongyang and throw a pot luck bash for social awareness. Unbeknownst to North Koreans other than Il and his party, the celebration is now for their newfound nuclear capabilities in defending against evil.
Bono started off on a bang, “North Korea, are you ready? Are you ready to rock? Let me hear you say ‘Rock’n’Roll’! Lift your hands and scream! I’m waiting people. I know you’re hungry, but Bono doesn’t come around on a whim nor do I throw benefit concerts for some degenerate laze balls. Do I have to get the guards and their guns? Sun-Lee! More on the amp! Are you ready to rock? Just reach your hands up toward the sky, as if you’d reach for a turkey leg. I still, I still, and I still haven’t found what I’m looking for!” Bono fittingly ended the show with poignant message in his last song, “Mr. Kim Jong-Il, Mr. Jong-Il, with or without you. Mr. Il, Mr. Il, peace, with or without you, oh yeah. We’ll invade, with our peace, strapped on the side of bombs, with or without you!”
Afterwards Bono was grateful for learning that he has just fed his new fans, “I can’t say enough for the bash. We made change, again. Il gave me 15 cents and we made a dollar out of it. I mean we’re pretty resourceful in extreme measures.” When asked about rumors of U2 being sent to a gulag because of a poor performance, “Oh, yeah I heard about Il’s distaste for us. I just think he does that sort of stuff on purpose, you know, like a rebel without a cause. His whole demeanor and presence that night was animated and lively. He was even singing “Beautiful Day” verbatim. On the gulag part, well, I’d a just dig a whole in the back of the gulag and be in China, you see.” [Only Bono laughed] Bono continued, “What we need to do more of is what U2, remarkably may I add, just did. Break down barriers and speak to one another. For example, how does a couple exist if they do not talk and are less than amicable? What Bono demonstrated was that regardless of your qualms, you can still talk to the dark side. And hey, I even traded my sun shades, [whispers] they cost me about $3,300 peace dollars, to Il for his reassurance that he would end hunger in North Korea, disarm and sell U2 merchandise. I’d be lying if I’d say he nodded in reassurance towards the first two. Yet I have a feeling that if he’d sell U2 merchandise, I’d use the proceeds to send aid there. And by aid I mean missiles.”

A Matter of Just More than Religion: The Bible 214, The Quran 3?

In an effort to alleviate the American way, albeit a great force, the Gateway Hotel in Ames, Iowa will be purchasing three, count them, three copies of the Quran. In an interesting fight for survival, the freedom of religion seems to already have a sweeping, powerhouse victor: the Bible. Christianity doesn’t seem to be an in your face seller, I mean, that’s for those damn Jo-Hova’s Witness to come door to door like poor salesmen trying to sell you a soul and an entrance into ”Heaven”. But before you think the separation of church and state is not that powerful, travel to a hotel and open the bedside drawer. What might you find? A prayer rug? I think not! Anamist objects of worship! Not here! Oh, but there is that one Good Book and I’m not talking about the Da Vinci Code. The Bible rests there quietly and probably does not get touched very often. You know, businessmen do not have time on their lunch break to fornicate with a street woman and immediately absolve themselves in an hour – that’s what Sundays are for. So then what does it say about our society? Does this book actually matter? Oh, hell yes! America is supposed to reek of equality and freedoms. This isn’t Iran, where we have to adhere to Islam or else! This is America, damnit! And I should do as I damn well please! Well, if we were open, why would we subtly place a Bible in all of our hotels? The thought of missionaries still preaching, rings silently, not loud. We are giving our citizens a Bible while they are away from home. Or are we forcing it upon them? What if I am not a Christian, but a Hindu? Well, don’t read it! Yes, I can do that, but how come the Christian man gets his spirituality tonight and not me? Hmmm, interesting question. This small instance mirrors American foreign policy. America believes it does well, yet they don’t realize that being open isn’t just allowing a melting pot or allowing those purged “Freedom”. It means actually knowing them and allowing acceptance through little acts as having copies of others religions in hotels. No wonder America is hated – Freedom isn’t really free, is it?

"Hi, do you have a copy of the Quran? Umm, I don’t know. Suzy do we have any Qur… Ah Qurans? [stumbling on word] No, okay. [a quick no] Yeah, we do not have a copy. Okay, why don’t you have a copy? You have a copy of the Bible but no Quran. So only Christians come to this hotel? Or do you only cater to Christians? Am I missing out on something? Because I don’t feel welcome! Ah, yeah, I don’t know why we don’t have one. I mean, yeah we should have one. Like, where could you get one? I don’t know. Borders, Barnes & Noble. Okay, well we can send someone out to get one for you. Actually, No! I don’t want one now. And I wouldn’t want one. It’s the principal. The fact that the Gateway is catering to others and not me is disrespectful. I’m a paying customer. I’m an American too, damnit! Oh, yeah, I know. It’s the principal. We should have some copies for others too. Yes, it is the principal. The Gateway should have copies of other religious books for others or no religious books at all! Okay, yeah, so what I will do is write a note to management and have them order like three copies of the Quran for those who need them or ask for them.”

The following actually happened and although I am not religious, I am irritated at the subtle force that Christianity has on this country. While that hotel may never buy copies of the Quran, it may be a start of getting that “Equality” that’s been promised and that America is built upon.

Hands Up

G-Unit signed an exclusive deal with fraternities around the country in which only G-Unit music will be played. The deal is said to be another way the music industry can infiltrate music listeners. Both sides like it or not, were extremely happy. G-Unit didn’t have to do much besides take over video and radio with their music. The fraternities didn’t receive free music or anything like that. Nothing will even change. Derrick Doss, a member of the Alpha Phi Beta fraternity, welcomed the official deal, “GGGGG-Unit. Yeah, party man! It’s so bomb that G-Unit endorses frats, man. I mean, I don’t know what’s going to change though because we only play G-Unit music anyways. It’s like every night we’ll replay the same G-Unit songs. But [interrupted] Oh, my God! Ha, Yeah! Michelle is dancing on the bar again. Woo-Hoo. Michelle, lemme see you just a lil’ bit. That’s so gangster. Fiddy, Fiddy’s me dogggg, man.” Later while talking to Doss and his frat patrons, I did indeed hear nothing but G-Unit: the entire Lloyd Banks Cds (yes, both), Marvin Bernard’s antics and as well as most of 50 cent’s miraculously catchy tunes. Beer was chugged, beer pong was played, girls gyrated what consisted of hips and ass if they had those components and frat guys believed they were black for the night. Lo and behold this was antithesis of a gangster party but right in line for a G-Unit party. Fake gangsters preyed on women and spit horrible game. They received play and most likely the women would come back for more regardless of the frat boys’ impotent approaches. This event is much like of how G-Unit is so popular: bad music, fake personas, catchy lyrics and repeat play. Well, I couldn’t get enough of Lloyd Banks’ “On Fire”, so I requested, to the rotund, white male with a clear, plastic cup full of cheap, keg beer, for another play. The result: “On Fire” was played three more times. Beautiful indeed.

The Arizona Cardinals Have Had It Up to Here!

The owner of the Arizona Cardinals, Bill Bidwell, issued a statement Wednesday that he'd decided, after much deliberation, the team needs a change. Bidwell adamantly remarked, "Ya know, this team has been through a lot. Denny has done as much as he could. I mean, look at what he did with the Vikings as evidence. The 20 point defecit defeat by Da Bears was incredible. Did you see Brian (Urlacher). Gosh he was Superman out there, I tell ya. Nobody was blocking him. Denny assured me he'd be working with our much maligned linemen this week. The Arizona franchise itself has seen so much adversity and usually in those times of great weakness, I move 'em. From Chicago to St. Louis and now here in Arizona, we've picked up and hit the trail on to a new and hopeful destination. 'When the going gets tough I get out the kithcen', I tells my wife everytime she be cookin' her chicken pot pies. You know I think it's just our time. Tony Kornhieser was right, we need to move. The citizens of Arizona just don't deserve us and not until we get our act together are going to come back. I know ya'll are going to gripe that we burdened taxpayers with a brand new stadium that wont even be used by us no more. But ya'll can circuses and bowl games and high school championships. We need some time away from here - maybe we'd be a good fit for a traveling pack of clowns, Ha! Yeah, that's it the Cardinals is Clowns! We'll just travel and play where ever. Heck we can even try St. Louis again?" A reporter quipped, "But, ah, Mr. Bidwell, sir, the St. Louis Rams already play in St. Louis?" Bidwell appeared puzzled snarled, "Well, I reckon that's the truth. Umm, hmm? Maybe, Chicago, no. Darnit, gosh Da Bears play there. Well, alls I know is we aint going play in Arizona no more. Tony Kornhieser said so on MNF (Monday Night Football) and I trust that spastic man with my all heart. We going to travel from here on out and we aint never coming back, unless we have to of course because of that might fine state of the art stadium they built for us."

Jim Jones on "Black Superman"

His new style of rapping with echoes has given the Capo a new life in rap. After his last album he was in the dog house and behind Jha Jha in the Dipset crew. Jimmy's speaking twice is not revolutionary as rappers have been doing this for a while. Yet, Jimmy uses the echoes to take his songs to new limits. He'll throw in his (Eastside) or (Ballin) but he uses his new found style to his advantge. He can describe his rhymes and be thurough, "...drive bys (loaded)... you gon need some endurance (take a breath). And he gives us options, "anything less is uncivilized either fall back or fall back."

Fucking A! I don't know if I can use or say "bitch" again. The extent that UGK, especially grimey ass Pimp C says, "Bitch you know I like dat" is repugnant. The vulgarity! I never thought I'd be turned off by swearing but the twang of Pimp C's voice beats a dead horse. Has degrading women come down to this awful represetnation of music.

Weezy can be spectacular and darn straight ridiculous on the same track. Case in point his verse on the Jibbs remix. While he gets away with certain things, (some of what follows) he displays such confidence with what would otherwise be disregared from a rap star, that you got to give him his proper dues: "Look I'm the shit as I walk with pampers homie... and if he play then we gon put pajamas on em, cuz I will, put em to sleep, nyquil... GLC reappears here and there. He had a tape early this year but his MO has been MIA. When he comes, ugh! Okay, Jay! What you're showing isn't really that good. You're actually starting to annoy me. Stop ramming your music down my throat. I've seen this non-stop since Sunday and you're Mr. King of Beer, the Budwiser Man and not to mention the plug on Monday Night Football. The beat's too fast and the flow is too rushed. The video, while extravagent, is, dare I say, fitting towards the song itself. Jay, with his budget, and the director should have been a little more creative. I'll stop hating, but "What you want me to do."

Fat Joe ft. Lil Wayne - Make It Rain
Damn, Joey knows best. Crack himself is geared up. The white background thing though is getting played out. Lil Wayne looks like a parrot when he's sifting through money on top of the forklift; his small frame doesn't help coupled with his yelping the hook. I can just picture Fat Joe with Lil Wayne resting on his shoulder crooning the chorus and tucan samming it, bape style.

Ludacris ft. Young Jeezy - Grew Up a Screw Up
I didn't care too much for the song - it's not bad, but nothing exciting (building off biggie's pharse was asking too much). However, the video intrigues. I'm glad not much happens and the scenes are sparse. The camera movement is welcoming too. What's up with Jeezy? He looks to have lost some weight, but he's still wearing that blue Atlanta hat. Ain't you getting paid?

Don’t Let Diddy Press Play

The Euthanize Diddy Foundation was created to ensure Diddy would not press play and instead would be lying in the bottom of the Hudson in black bag. His album is to come out tomorrow and his voice will invade unsuspecting ears. His terrible music cannot be heard. Don’t let him Press Play! Since starting the foundation to euthanize Diddy, I have been able to raise $14 dollars. That money will given to a desperate man, maybe Shyne – wait he’s already in jail. Ah, Styles P will be given the $14 dollars to buy a blunt object and cease the Diddy monster. I’ve been informed too, that Styles P has picked up a used butt end of a revolver to use to exterminate Diddy, so that’s great news. If the coup doesn’t work, which IT will, but in case Styles isn’t a gangster but rather a gentleman, the Euthanize Diddy Foundation will find another way to assassinate Diddy. Steve Lyons on Steroids

Steve Lyons, a former MLB player and a recently fired FOX baseball commentator, has decided to tour the country with his stand up comedy routine. Lyons was giddy at his new career, “Yeah, it’s like a dream come true. This is a new career and a chance for me to show what the FOX viewers missed. Regardless of how you feel about me, my jokes are out there and hell, I’m funny.” Lyons was let go after the weekend’s Mets v. Cardinals series when he made a racial comment towards former player and coach, Lou Pinella. Pinellla of Hispanic descent, didn’t appreciate the comment. Lyons had insisted Pinella had taken his wallet because of Pinella’s “nature”.
“Me love you long time!” refers to his tours name and it has already upset MLB’s Asian players. “C’mon. I love baseball long time. I’m not racist! Let me talk to Kim and those Koreans will put clamp on it!” The early reviews state Lyons as “racy”, “ballsy” and “flat out, unfunny”. Lyons fends off the early feelers as “people out to get me” and “jumping the gun”. “Let me tell you this”, Lyons began, “if A-Rod was a Mexican he wouldn’t be in the predicament he’s in now. Cliff Floyd in left field? I could pick cotton better than he picks up sliders from flame throwing lefties! Pujols been eating too many tamales. Darren Oliver is to Tom Glavine as Danny Glover is to Mel Gibson. Frank Thomas is going to be in jail if he can’t get from 1st to 3rd on a double. X-Men: The Last Stand… for Racism? Debugging Dialogue

“Last Stand” is a marvelous display in comic capers (no shit, Sherlock!). Wolverine, Storm, Prof. X, Magneto, Pyro and many more X-Men are back in the third installment. Where “Last Stand” lets up in action, it exposes human, er, mutant truths that tell a story of the past. The struggle of control, more so the right to be, between humans and those inferior is the core of “Last Stand”. The action heightens seldom as the X-Men use more diplomatic endeavors by talking it out. The stars are brightly cast and not to mention the most poignant dialogue written about racial tensions since “Crash”. “Last Stand” challenges the viewer to channel aggression towards sustainable approaches. Yet, it’s a slight contradiction because the mutants are freaks of nature and friction inevitably ensues (mind you a clever way to include both drama and action). Battles aside, the war against rights still rages. “Last Stand” provides hope in that the slogan eracism will actually be erased. I was left enthralled, asking ‘Where would we (as a culture) be without “Last Stand”?’ As the chinks of superiority continue to rub off year after year, “Last Stand” takes a stand assertively as we roll through the 21st century. Not to mention it’s good for the kids too!

Debugging the Cast & Dialogue
To start off: Professor X = Dr. King; Magneto = Malcolm X. The cure = selling out, indoctrinate peoples. Mutants vs. humans = slaves (blacks for the most part) vs. whiteys. Professor X pulls aside Storm and hands her over the head position when he’s gone. Affirmative action anyone? Magneto’s “Join the Brotherhood” slogan sounds like Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam.
Dialog:
Storm claims, “Since when did we become a disease?” Well, since you were slaves and uncivilized.
Professor X calmly reverberates, “Whose outcome will change our world so greatly… there will be no going back. I do not know if victory is possible. I only know that great sacrifice will be required. And because the fate of many depend on a few, we must make the last stand.” Underdogs, ethnics, need to get the eracism ball rolling and it will take many a-sacrifices and even generations. The future is uncertain so one must be headstrong and progress undoubtedly towards the goal. So take the last stand against racism b/c you and those like you along with everyone matter.
Mystique is asked, “Raven, Raven, I asked you a question.” She responds understandably, “I don’t answer to my slave name!” People don’t answer to their slave names or their Christianized names.
Beast responds to Wolverine, “My boy, I was fighting for mutant rights before you had claws.” Wolverine claws, “Did he just call me “boy”?” Yes, Wolverine he did call you “boy”. He’s an old school southerner who was called boy so much it was ingrained. He can’t help it. He may, in fact, be one of the slaves who never left the south b/c of his dependence on the masters.
Magneto waxes profoundly, “They wish to cure us. But I say, we are the cure.” Yes, Magneto, there is no cure for inferiority; inferiority is the cure for inferiority.
“Charles always wanted to build bridges.” Of course Malcolm, Dr. King was peaceful unlike you.
“Charles Xavier did more for mutants than you will ever know.” You know the history of Dr. King and if not, wait until February and then you can learn all you want for 28 days.
“Plastic, they’ve learned.” Overt racism like slavery cannot fly in today’s world. You’ve got to adapt your racism tactics.
“My single greatest regret is that he had to die for our dream to live.” Usually this has to happen – a death of a “leader” ignites passion. This idea goes back to JC himself.
“By any means necessary.” Enough said.
“Traitors to their own cause.” Uncle Tom, Clearance Thomas, Oprah, you get the picture.
“In chess, the pawns go first.” True, blacks & Hispanics within the army are usually the first line.
“Im…” Wolverine adds, “One of them” as Magneto is now human. To err is to be human. To have thought or used double standards is possible.
“Humans and their guns.” Capitalism is a powerful weapon that has widened the gap and handicapped peoples of all ethnicities.

The Grand Ascension of Cory Lidle

Cory Lidle of the New York Yankees died yesterday in a plane crash inside New York City. He piloted the four seat charter into a 50-story building. We know Lidle is up there watching us and he has fulfilled his greatest achievement yet by following through with martyrdom, dying with dignity in the name of Allah. Many news outlets and former teammates are unwilling to admit Lidle’s secret past. He truly was a hero but only in the eyes of Al-Qaida. The rest of America will soon realize the terror the former Yankee brought Wednesday afternoon with a near disastrous 10/11: the day the world did not change because of an almost terrorizing terrorist attack. No Hall of Fame for Lidle but I imagine he'll be up there with the greats, Bin Laden and Atta. Lidle’s scorecard: Islamic Fundamentalism 1, Infidels 0.
Former teammates showered the obligatory ‘He was stand up guy’, ‘He was full of energy and so much life’ and ‘True professional, day in, day out’. What they forget is that Lidle was full of so much more: overzealous hate towards hard working Americans. Randy Johnson, the 6’11’’ giraffe of a Yankee pitcher, sounded off about Lidle, “I thought he was a terrorist!” When a media guy responded to Johnson’s claim noting that in fact Lidle was not believed to have terrorist ambitions, Johnson went AWOL. “Yeah, an American pitcher playing for the New York Yankees isn’t a terrorist! But a dirty looking Arab with a beard is? Until I see evidence, Lidle is a guilty martyr spy sent by the Iranians. Why do you think he signed with us? To tickle Steinbrenner? I think not. He secretly planned this mission, 10/11, but failed miserably and hit the side of 50-story eastside apartment building taking very few.” Alex Rodriguez, Mr. $250 million, who’s been black balled by teammates, fans and the media reacted and observed, “While I was shouldering the beast of burden for the entire futility of Steinbrenner’s “’Posed to Win Yanks”, Lidle over there (in the clubhouse) was drawing up plans to blow this world up! Nice going guys. I got a collection of “great” teammates alright! You guys could have stopped this! Giving him a great American burger would have done it but NO!”
The CIA and FBI have taken action in this case as it seemed to not be an issue of national security. However, local police in the 27th precinct raided Lidle’s house and released critical information. Lidle had a huge treasure chest in his bedroom adorned with Freedom Stickers (a large sized American flag). In it were phone listings for unidentified contacts which most likely were of terrorist cell leaders here in the U.S. Two copies of the Qu’ran were highlighted while a ruffled, red Mead 70-page notebook rested on top, full of illegible chicken scratched notes. Blueprints of certain New York buildings were in there as well, yet the report had blacked the names out for the press release. No suicide note was found. Although, there it was. The photo that will change MLB and the way the world views radical fundamentalism. Lidle sat, with his back straight and a plastered smile. There must have been a glee resonating through his lips – he was content. He didn’t need baseball or the here and now, he needed peace. Peace and Love… and Martyrdom.
