A defiling man

Hefner is a pioneer. The man of Playboy is propped up, like an in-store cardboard cut out as people walk by and give him a hi-five. Really, that’s how much life is left in him. From catching The Girls Next Door from time to time on E!, I wonder what he thinks of himself. Lounging around with all those women may be a glorious benefit but if what his three girlfriends, Holly, Bridget and Kendra say on the show is a regular occurrence, than he must be knocking his head against a stone wall. Dumb blond jokes exist for a reason.

What Hugh Hefner has created is duly noted. Ushering pornography into the mainstream consciousness is a great feat. You would have thought though, with the booming business, that society would now be comfortable about sex. It’s quite the opposite. Religious doctrine has ruined the biological curiosity that is sexual pervasiveness. A dick and a pussy is still taboo. More so, the sale of Monogamy continues to roll up (and back down) a slippery slope. Love, the intimate kind, only lasts a short time. Familiarity and attachment soon take over.

Holly’s hobby, and dream job, is to oversee the Playboy design layouts, as displayed in a recent episode. She is Hef’s main squeeze; they just celebrated their 5 year anniversary. The tremendous, aforementioned, three, were out of town on a promoting gig. They were driven home via a limousine. Holly called Hef to see how things were because it was Movie Night at the Mansion and she was anxious to see if a former Hef fling was going to cuddle up and get cozy with the wrinkled fellow. After many unsuccessful attempts, she rests her worries and believes in Hefner’s loyalty. They return to the Mansion and they scurry to bed as Kendra reports to us that they’re allowed to go over their curfew because of the promoting tour. Oh, how nice of Hef. Bridget retires to her grown-up, pink infused, Princess Barbie room for the night, alone.

The most defiling thing about Hugh Hefner is not that he created an outlet for sex crazed sirens, although seeing women take off their shirt to show their breasts to Girls Gone Wild is tasteless and futile—I mean really, where was daddy?—it is the subtle runoff of pornography that bothers me. I just thought that women taking their clothes off, freeing themselves, if you will, would ensure even more independence. Man has dictated a woman’s actions for centuries. So when Holly lets freedom ring, flashing crowds, it seems as if she’s more of a controlled doll; the liberation is a lie.

Ironically, the Playboy effect has kept more marriages together than you’re willing to believe; the divorce rate should be at 75%! Hefner, in the pursuit of pushing boundaries, has worsened the image of a woman. The docile woman of yesteryear is ever more a show piece, a prized horse that can be shown off and discarded at will when beauty fades.

Playmates are not just for boys either. They also serve a purpose in pumping more silicon that Barbie doll's head.

Appreciate the honesty, I felt that way too, although I decided to post it. I re-read it plenty of times and it was unclear at times and it still feels unorganized.

As for my point, I thought it was there but if not here it is: Hugh Hef, w/ Playboy (and it's societal influence), destroys minds not with its smut but rather its presented way of life that women take on. While his g/f's are dependent on Hef for their career, mentally, they've been brain washed to think what they do is an act of being an independent woman, when in fact it's not.
