Spread: Girl Talk

If you like mash-ups, then you better have this already (it has been out for a year). If you haven't heard Girl Talk before, he's nice; he'll switch from Gwen Stefani to Bun B to Ying Yang Twins to something else. He has tons of samples throughout each song that at times even may piss you off. That's one of my beefs with him: he switches up too much! But maybe that was intended; pop/rap music is here today and gone tomorrow. Most of these are short but with 15 samples jam packed into a 2:30 minute track, it's plenty. From listening to it, he has a Luda bias but he does a good job of diversifying his tracks. Girl Talk is an interesting case too, since his CD was sold at retailers and he did not get full sample clearance. His district representative from Pennsylvania brought up the issue of loosening the copyright infringement laws. At the least, give a listen.
