The Excommunication

The time has come to strike down thee with great vengeance and furious anger… the papal response to such annoying figures in Rap: an excommunication. Yes, they get the swift boot—fuck a boot, lemme strap on my Bitch Kickers. I don’t know about you but I’m getting sick of hearing these people's names. I’ve been irritated to the point of banning them from my site, ears and speech. The cast of lepers are not a great revelation but I feel the need to get it outta my system. This will be the last time the following are talked about on this site and hopefully this strikes a chord and can stop the proliferation of more wackness.

50 Cent. I told you it wasn’t that big; you should feel this way too. I stopped liking him after his fallout with Game and the Massacre was not appetizing. With his beefs, industry takeover and the fact that he feels emotionless in every song, it is easy not to like him. But somehow G-Unit babies cannot get enough of him. And if the push backs on Curtis aren’t evidence enough of his dwindling career, his rumored reunion with Game takes the cake, although it prove to be false.

50’s ban will extend to G-Unit bottom feeders as well. No more Yayo—I don’t care if you’re curious
! I never liked Banks so whatev. Buck has never pissed me off and I’ve never disliked him. However, Buck the World was sub-par and his resurgent loyalty for G-Unit baffles me; hence he gets the axe too.

Lil Boosie. I didn’t mind him; he was always silly to me. Over the past few years, it was nice to see him get some success as I’ve followed him for through the years. Yet he had to go to Joc for “Zoom” and he then went to Foxx for “Wipe Me Down”. I didn’t mind “Wipe Me Down” at first until I saw the video. Since then, I’ve heard it damn near everywhere, again and again and again—it is a stupid ass dance song, if you can call it that! Youngins seem to look up to Boosie too. Some 13 year old kid in Indiana or Arizona is emulating Boosie. That’s not good. Boosie is the type of character who doesn’t give a fuck and is just a wild flower with nothing to ground him. I can picture Boosie being that kid in your 5th grade class yelling to the teacher, “You’s a bitch, Ms. An’erson!” and laughing it off. Unacceptable… where’s the dunce cap?

Mims. Where do I start?

Shop Boyz. I’d like to see where they are in 6 months.

Huey. After seeing a recent You Tube video of Huey’s camp arguing at a local St. Louis, and hearing jokes that Huey sold 900 copies within the his hometown, I felt bad for him… not.

I give second, third and even fourth chances to everybody. I will continue to keep an open mind, although as time goes on, my tastes and feelings are changing. There will be a point at which I’ll stop giving some folks a listen. These aforementioned artists were given chances. 50 and Boosie were given years; it wasn’t “This is Why I’m Hot” that did Mims in for me, it was “Like This”; “Rock Star” definitely did it for me as well as hearing “Totally Dude” and “Leanin”; and well, Huey was split decision.

Getting burned was one cause for the bans yet it’s not like I ever went ape shit over these individuals. It’s what pissed me off that made my decision. When I started this site, the intention of my daily links, Through the Sieve, was to get rid of the junk. That’s what it means, through the sieve, in cooking terms, is to strain material so you consume the good parts and leave the dregs and junk behind. That really never happened as I’m as likely as anyone to toss up pure haberdashery if it has a hook.

While I do not get pissed off often, there is some artists’ status that is in limbo. This status usually occurs from a debut album to a sophomore: Joc, Dro, and Slim Thug. I’m already looking towards Plies’ sophomore, as I’m sure I’ve heard most of his debut. But in Plies' case, as I listened today, his album was terrible. T.E.R.R.—you get the picture. So, I'll just ignore Plies altogher. Then there are artists that get held back in the mixtape game and sooner rather than later, if they do not improve or change their look, they may receive a ban: Papoose, Kiotti. Even Camron could get the boot. To me, his inactions over the past year would serve as the main cause, not his run in with Annnnnnnnnnderson! Don’t count out Weezy* either, because if he releases another mixtape full of “freestyles”…

Ultimately, very few artists will ever receive the ban; it takes a whole lot. And again, the artist’s music/news clips really have to rub me the wrong way. Trust me, seeing Bun in concert over a year ago completely cooled me on Bun’s worth. And case in point, Hot Mess: while he hasn’t pissed me completely off, I’d have to hear something extraordinary for me to utter his sorry ass again. Most likely though, I will begin to talk less of an artist and gradually not pay attention to him. The ban will stand pat and hold past this site, as I won’t listen to or talk about any of these artists again.

"Excuse me, was you sayin somethin?"

I think he has his money right... "more pink polos"

Last week was a slow one. Figures though because of the recent decency of personal mixtapes.

It may sound preachy but go get Skyzoo's
Corner Store Classic and Term's Hood Politics 5. Give them a few listens through and then give me a good reason on why it took you so long come to your senses.

I dropped that
Kiotti Spread over a week ago... anybody cop?

Many are heralding Chamillionaire's two new videos from Ultimate Victory a tally for positive and progressive Hip Hop. Agreed. While it was nice to see a rapper with the
cojones to speak out on Hip Hop, I'm still not feeling the Chamillitary Mane. It's not that he's wack but nothing about his raps excite me or tell me that I need to rep for him. Below is "Hip Hop Police"... here's "Evening News".

Heard that Sean Kingston is poppy as hell. I didn't even bother as I peeped the track listings. Unless you're 16 and a girl, I wouldn't go through the trouble.

Speaking about leaks: Plies and UGK are due. I've heard more than a dozen possible UGK tracks already and it's sounding good. Yet UGK stretched over a double disc won't produce anything extraordinary. As for Plies, his album most likely will be filled with older joints that have been floating around for a year plus.

I've slowed on Yung Wale. It's still a
good listen but dude jumps around too much and never sticks to a topic.

In case you didn't catch me mouth off on remixes, take 20 minutes to read
part one and part two. I didn't think I could get to six pages but damn those remixes irritate me. And they're still coming!!!

If you're a Project Pat fan, make sure to check out his
first solo tape from 1994. It's weird to hear him as a young cat on the come up. I guess it's nice to see him rapping about the same shit...

Decided to give this dude named
Big Lou a listen... two songs, two rewinds.

Pap, what did I say!?! It feels like he's coming through with another mixtape... "I Ain't Going Out Like That!" Who he think he is, Queen Latifah!

Crooked I's "Oh My God" wasn't amazing but "I use Hip Hop Weekly to come ill again and again, killing beats I'm as guilty as Simp."

That Chris Brown
Kiss Kiss snippet is boring.

Joc's "Play Ya Cards" is good background music. And that's a compliment. "Blah, blah, blah..." is more like it.

That Fallout Boy Remix is a good five minutes.

Damn 36 couldn't do it on their own, so they employ Game to sprout "Like Money". Wasn't this "
Money" a predictable topic, considering the last 36's last 18 months... "Just look at me dummy"

So Shaggy has to mimic Jay on "Umbrella", why didn't he stay a while?

Remixing the Remix Part 2

Kia Shine, LL Cool J, Young Buck, Swizz Beatz, E-40, Slim Thug Jim Jones & Remy Ma "So Krispy"
Kia Shine’s “So Krispy” Remix reeks of a phony plea for spins so much so it made me pull the red flag and write about remixes. “So Krispy” was cool when I first heard it; the beat made the song. But after a few weeks I thought “So Krispy” embodies not only Kia Shine but the whole industry’s feelings: it’s all about how much you paid for your Bapes. Plus, he’s Master P ugly. The first song from his debut, Due Season, must not have been getting enough spins. Kia Shine claims his record company, Universal, paid for the beat, done by Play n Skillz, for 20k. Then around May Universal paid Chuck T and a few DJs to place Kia Shine as a host on a few mixtapes. Mistah Fab jumped on the track not too long ago, and I don’t know if it was official, but that did not work. After Universal pushed Due Season back to next Tuesday, I'm sure they've felt it necessary to get Kia on a super remix... but LL Cool J's going to rescue Kia Shine? The remix isn't that bad at all but at six and a half minutes, the artists compete at who's the krispiest. I think LL won because he named every thing he had on.

Hurricane Chris, Jadakiss, Game, Boosie, Baby & E-40 “Ay Bay Bay”
I know I liked the song for a few weeks when it broke back in Janurary but I soon grew tired of this nonsensical baby talk. Of course though, it gained national attention. Hurricane Chris needs this remix so much so they shot a video some weeks ago. The other day, I finally saw the whole video and started laughing because nothing happened and I am still wondering why Hurricane is standing on train tracks and what is that “Ay Bay Bay” dance—shookin and jivin! I guess it works… at pissing people off. I haven’t heard an outcry to publicly lynch a rapper in a while. But in this case, we should lynch his cohorts as well for stooping so low.

Da Shop Boyz, Weezy* & Chamillionaire “Rock Star”
I felt as if the regular version did damage on its own. The Rock Star movement has been popping up for a while now within Rap circles. But I never thought some group (or record company, mind you) would be so flagrant with the making of this song. I’m surprised that Jim Jones wasn’t added onto the official version and that the respectable Chamillionaire came on board.

Wes Fif, B.O.B., Weezy* & Remy Ma “Haterz”
The original had a techno infused beat and was relegated to the club. In an effort to gain attention outside of Florida and Atlanta, Wes Fif and B.O.B.’s management must have called on Weezy* to do the trick. It’s still early and although I liked the original, this remix has been re-mixed with some bass. Yet I doubt it will go national.

Yung Berg, Jim Jones & Rich Boy “Sexy Lady”
This remix seemed superfluous. Yung Berg’s “Sexy Lady” has easily been doing well on its own the last six months. With only one song out too, I question Berg’s reasoning for his features. As an up and coming artist, you should really steer clear of Jim Jones and Rich Boy, probably two of the slowest/dumbest rappers. Well, in all due respect, Berg looks like he complements the other two accordingly—tards!

DJ Unk, Jim Jones & T-Pain “Two Step”
It’s DJ Unk: I know and I understand his lack of skills. Why do I bother calling him a rapper, I don’t know. But he fits in that Paul Wall category: I know they suck but I don’t hold them up to a higher standard. As in “Walk it Out” original, the “Two Step” original is extremely boring; it’s all hook. In a smart move, he remixed both. Dre 3000 made “Walk it Out”. For me, Jim Jones is tolerable half of the time. On both remixes, I was completely fine with him and T-Pain was real cool on “Two Step”.

Collie Buddz, Paul Wall, Shaggy, Aztek, B Real & Ray Cash “Come Around”
I never listened to either version but this song points out my theory on rallying for the new artist in Collie Buddz. His success lies with the co-sign of others. I can understand countryman Shaggy; ditto with skin color of Paul Wall; Aztek and B-Real for a Latino delegation as well as regional recognition; and Ray Cash for the American Blacks and the regular cats. I’m sure the remix served its purpose and in this case, it was warranted.

Foxx, Booise & Webbie "Wipe Me Down"
“Wipe Me Down” did not have an official remix to my knowledge as UGK reached out as label mates to endorse a street/mixtape stamp of approval. Although the trio does not think like me, an official remix—any more air time period—of “Wipe Me Down” would be overkill. Instead, they quickly profited off a hit song, just as Jeezy and USDA did with “White Girl”—they released a legit mixtape that sold really well. This is what the Shop Boyz should have done but they were thinking big. And if I’m not mistaken, “Wipe Me Down” was Foxx’s song and Boosie came to him and they redid it, and with Boosie, it became a hit.

The Next One?
Sean Kingston “Beautiful Girls”
I’ve seen Sheek and Fab go on it recently. We all know they’d never pick Sheek’s ugly ass and but Fab maybe. I believe Sean Kingston is well on his way to selling records on his own accord. It may be a decision on his part if he wants to retain some credibility rather than go for broke and be the regular mainstream artist. From hearing his poppy/reggae songs, he’ll easily appeal to a massive audience. I just thought, when hearing “Colors”, that he’d try to do both—he does call himself a “Shotta” and “Gangster”, right? Andre 3000 said he was thinking about blessing “Beautiful Girls” in a recent interview but that probably won’t help.

Remixes that have not hit
Gorilla Zoe “Hood Nigga”
The original is not terrible but there’s nothing there as Zoe never raps a verse but offers a few bars here and there. He’s the newly added member to the gangsta boy band, Boyz N Da Hood. He replaces Jeezy and I guess it’s only fitting that he takes Jeezy’s route and will use the BNDH name to further his own career. “Hood Nigga”s first remix was with Big Boi. I guess they felt as if Big Boi wouldn’t make noise alone, so they added Jeezy. I slept on it at first but adding Jeezy made it one of my favorite songs so far this year. Adding Jeezy and even Big Boi still didn’t do the trick. For the third rendition, they’ve added Rick Ross and Jody Breeze. So if this fails to get Zoe a name or spins, Zoe should hand the torch to Breeze. Just because Ryan Seacrest can be short and famous doesn’t mean that will work for Zoe.

Tum Tum, E-40 & Rick Ross “Caprice Music”
I’m sure this helped Tum in the South, Florida and Cali but it never went past the “streets”. While not a misfire, I’m sure Tum thought it could do some big things. E-40 and Rick Ross are the usual suspects. Surprising too, that Tum didn’t add a Texas stalwart for the official remix. Kiotti added himself almost immediately and Trae was tossed on long after the fact. I don’t know how Tum is received in Texas but a fellow Texan could have helped. I don’t believe the “Cap Music” remix was intended to make Tum blow; rather it was used to create a buzz for Tum’s Eat or Get Ate.

Swizz Beatz, Weezy*, Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly & Jadakiss “It’s Me Bitches”
“It’s Me Bitches” was a case of Swizz’s album being pushed back but also I thought the remix took too long to come about. Swizz should have scraped his solo version from the get go and employed Weezy*, Jada, Kells and Busta to demonstrate a strong showing. The video/single was up early and it peaked too early, before the remix cast jumped on. With the major delay, Swizz should go back to the drawing board and just DJ Khaled it from the start.

The Fixxers, Jim Jones “Werk Wit Dat”
I’m not sure if Jim Jones is official and if there’s another version out. But from the looks of it, this song definitely could have used a remix. On the first listen, you could already sense the need for help and the song itself, cries for “REMIX”. At this point though, a remix would be futile, as the song is on its downward spiral; people would not want to hear those fidgety ass instruments again.

Diddy, Keyshia Cole, Joc, Game, Big Boi & Rich Boy “Last Night”
It took this long, on the third single, for the remix king to show up? For one, the remix most likely didn’t do much for Diddy and it was probably too little too late as Press Play had already been written off since its inception. Whatev though, the remix was decent.

Alliance, Boosie, Webbie, Foxx, Gucci Mane & Juvenile “Tatted Up"
I can speak for everyone: whew! This was a close one. I’m glad Alliance blew up early on with the original “Tatted Up” because if I heard any more of this song I’d kill myself. The cast of characters is fairly weak too as it appeals strictly to the South. But, that’s a good thing, as remixes should stay within in their regions. The weak cast tells me some major rappers turned Alliance down on their offer.

Fat Joe, Weezy*, R. Kelly, Baby, T.I., Rick Ross & DJ Khaled "Make It Rain”
Even if “Make it Rain” carried Fat Joe’s whole album and image for 2007, the remix didn’t do much if any help except to nail in an annoying concept in our minds forever: throwing money in the air at strip clubs.

Three Six Mafia, Project Pat & Chamillionaire “Dope Boy Fresh”
I have three separate versions, one with each, so I’m not sure if Pat and Cham were official. “Dope Boy Fresh” is another case of an album getting delayed, as it’s been six or seven months since it first dropped. But who knows went wrong… maybe all the versions received a lukewarm feeling.

Gladly there was no “Big Shit Poppin” remix, as T.I. does not need help to sell. Also, I was thanking my lucky stars that not many chose to go over “Big Shit”. That’s probably because it was a so-so beat to begin with. I thought Fab’s “Make Me Better” or “Diamonds” would have elicited a remix yet both already had features, as well as Fab’s entire album.

Last fall through early this spring, a few songs found heavy rotation, so much so that every rapper went over them. “This is Why I’m Hot”, “Throw Some D’s”, “Fly High” and “One Blood”, in retrospect deserved to be ridden into the ground. Even with “One Blood”, it was not a bad concept to add numerous emcees. It seems every year a select few singles will have a few different official remixes.

Features Resembling Remixes
R. Kelly, T.I. & T-Pain “I’m a Flirt”
R. Kelly smartly added T.I. and T-Pain as features instead of flying solo. Anyone will listen to any of these dudes and couple that with the fact that all three dropped albums in 2007, it was a well executed plan.

Mike Jones, Snoop Dogg & Bun B “My 6-4”
An interesting note is that Mike Jones elected Bun B and Snoop Dogg on “My 6-4”. This was his third single to launch his much anticipated second album American Dream (anticipated? if you’re rock stupid!). “Mr. Jones” and “Like What I Got” did not gain steam, so Mike Jones, reeling for something, anything, scraps the whole idea of a remix and puts the features on the regular song. To me, “My 6-4” is a remix. It shows Mike Jones wanted to get a buzz going right off the bat instead of waiting for people to join. He enlists fellow Houstonian Bun B so he retains some love within Houston (does he still have some?). And Bun’s verses are reliable as much as they are predictable. When Snoop comes through, for a West Coast Delegation, like with T.I., anyone will listen.

DJ Khaled’s We the Best
DJ Khaled, T.I., Akon, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Baby & Weezy* “We Takin Over”
DJ Drama, Willie da Kid, T.I., Jeezy, Rick Ross & Jim Jones “Feds Takin Pics”
DJ Khaled’s two albums are one long never ending remix. Very few songs, other than his singles, were listenable. At six minutes, and with six rappers, you get lost fast and bored. It demonstrates an advertisement for up and coming Florida rappers. As for DJ Drama, he is attempting Khaled’s idea. “Feds Takin Pics” lost steam because of the Drama’s predicament yet I didn’t think it was all that. Both DJ’s main initiative is to push artists, for Khaled, Weezy*, the TS crew and Dade County; and Drama, Willie da Kid and PSC.

Papoose & Snoop “Bang it Out”
Pap’s new supposed single “Bang it Out” doesn’t resemble a remix yet the addition of Snoop is an obvious pratfall: do not cater to fans rather do your thing and they can decipher if you’re worth it.

Real Remixes
New York falls victim too, although it’s used correctly.

Joell Ortiz, Jadakiss & Saigon "Hip Hop"
In promoting “Hip Hop” Joell Ortiz or Dre, who’s interested to see how much return he could get with Ortiz’s upcoming Aftermath project, must have thought that he needed someone else to keep his song hot. The original was fine enough yet Jadakiss’ verse adds to the song. Calling on Saigon and Jadakiss is original and meaningful.

Nas “Where Are They Now” 90's, 80's & West Coast Versions
The one up I’ll give Nas is his massive project to remember and respect the past. His three versions, however lengthy, were a statement. This is one way remixes should be used, with an authentic and personal confliction.

Remixing the Remix Part 1

What is the purpose of a remix?

I’ve found myself questioning many recent remixes. We know that hit songs will be freestyled to in order to keep an artist rolling and, for some, garner actual listens (c’mon, if Hell Motherfukin Rell didn’t “Throw Some Keys” on that Rich Boy shit, I would not find the mental capacity to hear him on his own beats). Although, with a few of the hit songs that have come out this year, it seems like the artists or the record company have decided to forgo being flattered by Weezy* and Game flowing to it alone, and act quickly to make sure it is an official remix before the song grows tiresome. Also I’ve questioned certain features lately that include more than one artist. This pre-add on guest list versus an actual remix is blurry as both, currently, lack authenticity.

With that said, other reasons for an official remix arise. Recognition for the artist; connections through features; marketability; and that single will get extended play. In most cases, the original artist is an unknown. Or in the other cases, he cannot sustain a track of his own thus needs a helping hand to make him palatable. Through features on the remix, the song will get spins in different regions. If someone in Cali is a Game fan, they will be aware of any song he touches, even if it’s from Louisiana, so now Game fans know Hurricane Chris.

The featured list is a small and tight knit group of regional stars. These usual suspects welcome the remix just as much as the artist does. Weezy* has reiterated this triumphant feat throughout this year by claiming 2007 as the year of remixes and features. Hell, Weezy*’s been doing that for the last few years so it’s no surprise he dedicated his career to it (and to uttering some of the wackest rhymes in history—I’ll stop… like the sign).

In need of fans out West, just phone Game, Snoop and E-40. All three have had success because of the remix. Snoop and E-40 have extended their careers as well (pointing more at E-40). And through these remixes, E-40 has painstakingly become irritating. Don’t act like you ain’t heard them sound effects (sounds as if he's farting in through his mouth)! Odd thing about Game, he would have mostly likely release a tape of his own flows anyways but he’ll gladly take the extra exposure.

Not too many East Coast dudes get on remixes and for good reasons—they can make it on their own. Jim Jones is the number one cat on every remix. It’s as if the director’s of the remixes need one voice from NY, so they choose Jim Jones. Jones does his feature thing on the low across the country (Tum Tum, that “Oooh” song et al). It’s odd too because he lacks… everything. Yet he gets love! He definitely heads the East’s remix constituency. Jadakiss, surprisingly, gets slots on many remixes. If you think for a second though, it’s not surprising to see Jadakiss ruin his so called rep sharing the mic with Fat Joe on Paris’ “Fighting over Me”. Have you seen Jada lately? Yeah, he’s still rocking headbands—he needs that cheese. Fat Joe has been on the remix tip for a while so it’s nothing new and he’s on the back end of his career. Remy Ma is the only chick in the thick of things that holds down the spot with the boys.

The South is hot and most of the remixes start down bottom. From Houston, Slim Thug, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire are available. Chamillionaire is the only one though, who’s used the remix to his advantage. Although, Bun B is still a remix king, what hasn’t he done in the last few years? Boosie with his “Wipe Me Down” has now appeared on a few joints; I guess he reps for those under 115 lbs. Rick Ross is “it” for a Miami vibe. Jeezy, T.I. and Yung Joc have been their fare share of remixes yet their verses are kept for in-house remixes or more real/authentic cuts. Outkast is currently plugging itself on the remix circuit and will resurrect their own careers because of the decency on their borrowed bars. Weezy* is on Jim Jones status: every remix. I bet he turns some down.

R. Kelly, T-Pain, Lloyd and Akon are all “in” right now so they easily get the call for the R&B flavor.

There is this consensus that these go to guys (Remy is a man, trust me when she gets locked up) equal plays. It does. Those featured on the remixes are all “hot”, at least within radio and television circuits. Or, the remixes let veterans, in need of some life in the twilight of their career, get air time—that one last chance. The remix game circulates and re-circulates those who are “in” or about to release an album/mixtape.

It does really well for both parties but it probably gives the guests more life, staying power. Yeah, Huey got his money but will he ever come back (crossing my fingers that the G5 crashes and burns) but T-Pain and Bow Wow, because of being featured on the remix, continued to further their name and product. Speaking of T-Pain, he came two years ago with “Sprung” and “Striper” and both were remixed. He used the help of somewhat established artists and turned it around this time to his favor. He’ll be more remembered for 2007 for his appearances on remixes rather than his own Epiphany. Just wait until you hear him on Kanye’s new single.

It’s not that I’m against remixes. They serve a purpose and most of them are tolerable. Who doesn’t want to hear another verse from your favorite rapper? The frustrating thing is the cookie cutter attitude. The creation of these super remixes all need one dude from here, or there, or I need him because he’s hot or he provides sex appeal or thugitude. Nothing is authentic. There is not a real, gradual meeting. The planning is haywire. Does LL Cool J do anything if you’re Kia Shine? Can’t a remix start from wanting someone who’d help make the original better? At five plus minutes, these super remixes are just one long commercial; spit some shit and that’s your advertisement for the month. And none of these remixes kill the beat. None of them say anything different.

The re-invention of today’s version of the remix is another reason why Rap is hollower than ever. Float on your own first than you can cop a few features—that’s if the other artist thinks you’re good. I know it’s for the money but some of these artists don’t care for themselves anymore… that indifference is starting to rub off on me and I’m going to stop caring—listening—to these dudes one of these days. The remixes are turning into a bad orgy: 40 year old, mature women with sagging titties; butterfaced broads with triple F’s; young, flashy chicks who just stick the dick in their mouth and bite down; dudes on dudes; men wiping men down (LOL!); pussy be so crusty and unshaven it looks like Jimmy Jones face (eek!); and worst of all it never ends—it’s like I’ve seen that dick in that same hole ten times now!

Part 2 coming Thursday (tomorrow). I’ll explain some remix examples in detail.

Shutdafuckup

These internet thugs are territorial about their links. Stop the threats. I ain’t gonna change. Bootlegging will exist with or without me or you; you can’t stop it. Really the downloading game is like the spread of a bacterial disease, because some of it is actually bad (See: Hot Mess) and it may make you stupider. What’s wrong with sharing? I give you a silent thanks for upping the shit first, no doubt. But so what if I jack your link, you should be flattered. Shit, I get so weak in the knees every time I see my links jacked on these forums. I’m glad that the music I get, up and spread is heard multiple times. This administrator threatened to kick me off the site because I took someone’s link and upped it so it could be heard—like I’m gonna re-up it if it’s currently working?

And then these fucking bloggers think they special: you ain’t shit! You’re an impotent prick with time on your hands who, besides jacking off to porn, and you hit the OVER 18 button although you’re 17 and 7 months, likes to act tough through the internet. And this isn’t at any of the cats I know, this is at some other sites I patronize. You’re not tough. Let me remind you: you still attend school, you live with your parents and you’ve never gotten into a fight (well, maybe a
fruit fight). You spell in incorrect English but you keep that B on your report card on the low. So don’t call yourself 187KiLLa on these message boards.

Quit the jealousy. I consolidate links. That’s the best way to hear a wide range of artists from different regions. Forget getting all gushy because you were the first one to put up some new Dick Pulla. And too I really don’t care if you just post links—talk about the music you’re preaching! Show how much you know.

Like I said before: it ain’t like you get these links directly from the artist or are connected to them!

I still believe these leaks are a conspiracy by major record labels. Why does everything get ripped? And how? Seems like 10 to 14 days before an official drop, the bootleg is online. Even the mixtapes get jacked before they’re technically “out”. I don’t trust the RIAA. They leak the shit and then point the finger at the fans for weak record sales. This ain’t 1999, there’s no Nelly, no NSync, Britney or Backstreet Boys! Y’all just pissed because you can’t make more money and people aren’t buying into Da Shop Boyz and DFB.

Weezy* is not the best rapper alive. He’s had his share of KiLLa tracks over the last few years yet he’s had even more terrible songs out too. So stop dick riding. Peep his listens over at DatPiff and you’ll see every tape is in the 25k for listens—they have the same tracks? That goes for y’all T.I. dick riders too—that album was wacker than finding out that Ne-Yo is straight. And I’d tell Clifford to his face, right after I throw a water balloon at him. There are so many wack rappers getting love it’s just not cool anymore. You can dig the songs but just don’t believe it’s fiya!

"We done grew up in an environment that can't change..."

Best week of the year. Take a deep one...

Skyzoo dropped. I sat there at 11:01 PM on Thursday waiting for the drop from him personally—I had nothing to do! I’ve listened to Corner Store Classic about 5 times this weekend. I wouldn’t say it’s a classic but it beats everything else that’s been out this year. I’m a little stuck on Cloud 9 so the mixtape feel is different. The beats are pretty nice and he always comes with that witty shit. The only track I’ve skipped over was that girly shit with Nina B, otherwise the whole tape was way above average. "And everybody know my name it's like a Cheers tape", so if you haven’t downloaded it yet, do it! Cuz I’m beat Skyzoo like a dead horse... GET IT; that link’ll be up for a while.

Before I go any further I’d like to remind y’all that the comment section is open. Yessir. If you can type, or talk, drop a comment and say what’s up. Forget the thank-yous—I do appreciate em—but let us know what you think about the music that’s put up and that I speak about. Y’all feeling Skyzoo, Term, Big Shug…?
Let me know.

Termanology dropped too. I still haven’t sat down and listened to Term but
Hood Politics 5 is dope. There’s enough on there to go off of too, as I just started hearing him. And lots of repeat plays… "That Thump"! I don’t think Term is about to bring shit back but dude got some songs you can chill to. That dead horse thing, ditto.

I picked up Big Shug’s
Street Champ. I like it. The reason: I can leave it on almost all the way through. But really listening to it, I had to really wince at Shug’s rhyming skills. He wrecked a really good album with his weak flows. I guess at 35 (or however old he is), his priorities are completely different. But he barely could wax poetic about his supposed past. And through the whole disc, his array of topics runs thin. On Street Champ Shug acts as if he’s the wise daddy of Hip Hop.

Been hearing that Common is as promised. Heard like half the album… yet I wait.

I haven’t listened to that Sean Price. I never really knew who he was until earlier this year. Heard a few songs and I can say I fucks with Sean Price. Plus when I saw them Pen n Pixel graphics, that MASTER P was like "UGGHH!"

Tum Tum’s Eat or Get Ate is trunk music. At first I was like: trash. On second thought I felt sorry for him. On third thought I remembered that this was Tum Tum we’re talking about. It ain’t that bad but everything sounds the same. I’m accustomed to Tum Tum-isms so even after the initial disappointments it has been keeping my ride’s stereo on lock for the last few weeks.

T.I.P. was heard saying "T.I. the reason T.I. vs T.I.P was bad, brah!"

Didn’t get that Chamillionaire Mixtape Messiah 3, is it any good cuz I haven't heard anyone talk about it?

Kanyeezy and 50 on the same day? That will be interesting. 50 will get pushed back, again.

Joell Ortiz spun that "I Get Money" flow… "late night get me bent money"
p.s. forgot to put it in this week's singles... so cop it like a pig!

Does Kanye still have to do radio drops? "I sharted on tracks".

Rick Ross "Trilla" didn't floor me. Isn't being "trill" a dated concept.

Apathy goes from talking about "I fuck a butterface who got the best butt" to mentioning "daughter's in the back seat sippin on a sippy cup". Ap's lovable, blatant honesty is back.

Crooked I goes off again. "plus im in ya stomach when im dickin you like you pregnant with a baby and he's kickin you".

These super remixes are getting to me. How did Kia Shine hook up with LL?

Note to self: do not look into Royce's eyes.

A message to all y’all internet thugs: SHUTDAFUCKUP.

The
excommunication is nearing.
